Overview The Peoples Bank was originally organized in 1964 in Elba, AL in the county of Coffee County and was reorganized in 1995 to be The Peoples Bank of Coffee County. The bank is held by Henderson Bancshares, Inc. of Troy, AL and has two branches in New Brockton, AL and Enterprise, AL. Two of its original organizers, Drexel Cook, and L.B. Murphree, still serve on the Board of Directors today with Mr. Cook serving as Vice Chairman. Other Directors include Pete Cash, Jim Cook, Sherrill Crowe, Gary Guthrie, Kelly Baxter, and Cabert Mills with Mr. Guthrie serving as Chairman and Mr. Baxter also serving as President of the Bank. As the only independent bank remaining in Elba, New Brockton, and Enterprise, this dedication to serving the customers and this community is evident in the actions and activities of all of Peoples Bank's officers, directors and staff. As an independent bank, our customers can expect decisions about their loans and deposits to be made right here with no waiting. The same people that our customers know and trust will make the ultimate decisions about their financial needs.
