What makes us so unique? People helping people. The human touch. Quick answers. Local phone numbers. Bankers calling you by name. A President available to meet with you. The consolidation of the banking industry through merger or acquisition continues to impact customer loyalties. In Arizona, the banking industry is dominated by a few national banking institutions. The seven largest banks are governed by people who live outside of the state and the communities their banks service. Sixty-two bank branches were operating in Mesa in 1998, the year Mesa Bank came on the scene. Of these sixty-two branches, none functioned as a community bank with local decision making capabilities and a local board of directors. Larger banks advertise "products" and their "for a limited time only" pricing gimmicks. At Mesa Bank, we want you to trust that we will deliver consistent services, fair pricing and the kind of attention that you would expect. You want an 800 number and online access? You can have it. But if you need a person to assist you, we are ready for you! Mesa Bank was organized by founding directors Neil Barna, Bob Evans and Stu Hogue. Mr. Evans served as chairman of the board of directors until retiring to the position of chairman emeritus in 2003. Mr. Hogue now serves as chairman with Mr. Barna serving as president and CEO of Mesa Bank. The bank funded its initial capital requirements with the support of 240 local shareholders. Today, the board is comprised of fourteen civic-minded community supporters. Our management is local and our decision-making is local, and our focus is on our community. Specializing in business banking, Mesa Bank also offers personal banking options, investment strategies and equipment leasing. If the big bank feel is not for you, please stop by one of our locations and experience the difference.
