Year Notable Events
1989 China Trust Bank of New York ("CTBNY") was established in New York by Messrs. Jeffrey L.S. Koo and Kenneth C.M. Lo with an initial capital investment of $10,000,000.
1990 CTBNY was profitable after 5 months of operations.
1991 CTBNY established the Flushing Branch in Queens, New York.
1992 CTBNY established the Chinatown Branch in Manhattan, New York.
1994 CTBNY established the Brooklyn Branch in Brooklyn, New York.
CTBNY initiated credit card service and issued VISA and MasterCard credit cards to its clientele.
1995 China Trust Holdings Corp. acquired Trans National Bank located in Monterey Park, California and renamed the Bank "China Trust Bank of California" ("CTBCA").
CTBCA relocated its headquarters to the newly renovated China Trust Bank Building in Torrance, California and established the Torrance Branch, its fifth branch overall.
1996 CTBCA established the Milpitas, City of Industry, and Irvine Branches in California.
1997 On August 20, 1997, China Trust Bank of California changed its name to Chinatrust Bank (U.S.A.) ("CTB(USA)"). After close of the business on August 29, 1997, China Trust Bank of New York merged into Chinatrust Bank (U.S.A.).
CTB(USA) established the Arcadia, Cerritos, Cupertino Branches in California and the Edison Branch in New Jersey.
CTB(USA)'s total assets surpassed $1 billion.
1998 CTB(USA) established the Alhambra Branch in California.
CTB(USA) relocated its Wall Street (N.Y.) Branch and Eastern Regional Office from 88 Pine St. to 366 Madison Ave., New York and renamed the Branch Midtown Branch.
1999 CTB(USA) established the Seattle Loan Production Office in Washington.
2000 CTB(USA) launched Internet banking products and services.
2001 On May 5, 2001, Chinatrust Commercial Bank, Taiwan aquired CTB(USA).
CTB(USA)'s total assets surpassed $1.7 billion.
2005 CTB(USA) established the Fremont and Rowland Heights Branches in California.
2006 CTB(USA) established the East Hanover Branch in New Jersey and Diamond Bar Branch in California.
2009 New mortgage programs kicked off offering varieties to meet our customers' mortgage needs.
